Teotihuacan Fri, March 21 - Teotihuacan. 1 hour north of Mexico City, is known as The Place Where Gods Feed the Serpent. It's pyramid of the Sun and pyramid of the Moon are some of the largest pyramids in the world. Teotihuacan was America's biggest ancient city and probably the largest empire. It covers approximately 20 sq. km. We will dedicate most of our attention to the Quetzalcoatl pyramid, Temple of the Jaguar, and Temple of Quetzalpapalotl. The Vernal Equinox is a day for receiving powerful energy alignments in this sacred place.
Thurs, March 20 - Museum of Anthropology. Mexico City's Museum of Anthropology may be the largest and finest of it's kind in the world. It is dedicated to all the various prehispanic cultures. It will give more of an understanding of the people that made up this land. It houses the famous Aztec Sun Stone, several Olmec Heads, and the Tomb of Pacal Voltan.
We will then visit Coyocan, place of the coyotes. This ancient Aztec ceremonial site was a small town, outside of Mexico City. It retains it's own identity, with narrow colonial-style streets, plazas, and a lively atmosphere. It is a very special place, chosen by Cortes after the fall of the great Tenochtitlan. We may even have time to visit the Frida Kahlo "blue house museum."
